Theatre Rehearsal 101- Things you should know

  1. There is a lot of waiting during theatre rehearsal. The goal is to try to refine the scene to have the best performance possible. The director may run a small part of a scene several times in a row to get it right. Your time on stage may be short, but it is very important

  1. While you are waiting, watch what is happening on stage so that you are aware of what is happening in the show. You may be called in to fill in for another actor.

  1. Be very quiet in the house (the audience area) while you are waiting. Quietly rehearse your lines/lyrics.

  1. Feel free to bring quiet activities like books, puzzles, etc. to help with restlessness.

Parents: If you need to take a call during rehearsal, please step into the hall.
